Golden Globes Tickets - A New Year, A New Star - By: Brent Warnken
As the countdown begins for the 66th Annual Golden Globes Awards, more stars are beginning to book their stylists, make their hair appointments and rack up their credit card bills. Some of those perhaps spending the most effort within the next week are the awards shows most recently announced presenters: the Jonas Brothers, Hayden Panettiere and Martin Scorsese. The three are among the long list of presenters who will grace the stage at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, which now include Simon Baker, Drew Barrymore, Glenn Close, Sacha Baron Cohen, Cameron Diaz, Aaron Eckhart, Laurence Fishburne, Ricky Gervais, Jake Gyllenhaal, Salma Hayek, Jessica Lange, Blake Lively, Jennifer Lopez, Amy Poehler, Chris Rock and Seth Rogen. If you can't wait to see all your favorite stars and make your own red carpet decisions, pick up Golden Globe tickets today! Presented by the Dick Clark Productions in association with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, all of this year's nominees will be coming out in style to show off their latest fashion decisions in hopes to bringing home a statue. While the list is extensive, as the Golden Globes are the only award show to cover both film and television, some of this year's favorites are Revolutionary Road, which earned Best Actor nominations for both its leading stars, Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, as well as Best Picture, and Vicky Cristina Barcelona, which earned a Best Picture, Musical or Comedy nomination as well as nominations for Rebecca Hall and Javier Bardem for their Best Actor roles and Penelope Cruz for her Supporting Role. This year marks a big change for the Golden Globes, as it was announced that the five pound statuette has gotten a new look for the New Year, according to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's President Jorge Camara. The new statuettes were revealed January 6th at the events venue, revealing a studier and more visually satisfying piece. "The HFPA is delighted to present our new statuettes to the public and entertainment industry," Camara announced during the event, where David W. Moritz, CEO of Society Awards, the company that created the award, was present. "We have spent the last two years working closely with Society Awards to finalize the design and production of the awards. Improvements in the statuettes include the detail and symmetry of the metal portion, inherit quality of the casting method, and accuracy of the globe. The construction of the Golden Globes has been improved so they will be more durable in transit. The Association selected a unique and uncommon marble to serve as the statuette's new base." So as stars gear up for an eventful evening, those lucky enough to win the votes by the ninety international journalists will be the first to carry such a sculpture. Unlike last year's disaster when the Writers Guild of America strike forced the 65th annual Golden Globes ceremony to be shot via an informal conference, this year's will blow Hollywood audience's minds as the HFPA are working harder than ever to create a spectacular performance. With a star-studded event that includes animated stars, Disney stars, seven time award holders and more, this year's Golden Globes will be something unforgettable, so check online today!
